We celebrate our number 30 with a double pack, featuring one of the creators of techno in Spain: Groof.Roberto Gemelin, from Madrid, is Groof. Hes Robert Calvin too. No matter which of his alias you know him by, hes one of the most active producers in the Madrid arena.Aka Robert Calvin, he released materials with Turbo (Tigas label) in 2004, having previously collaborated with Star Whores in a joint release with Alek Stark (2002). Also important are the remixes he did for Disko B or for Sindicato Records and MSX, paying tribute to Megabeat with his recreation of the great classic Strange. His background as Groof is even more extensive, as his early steps go back to the times of Minifunk (the cheeky and shameless label from Barcelona that was then managed by Omar and Dj Loe). With them he recorded Mambo! (1999) and I want you(2000). He has also recorded with WarmUp, Fieber, Rainwaves or Shareware Records. At the end of the ninetees Groof shared Quite Unusual with Oscar Mulero: the start of a deep friendship that nowadays brings us WU30 mini-album.

Features printed insert in clear poly bag Francesco Baudazzi, sometimes known as Obtane amongst other secretive pseudonyms, is an electro-acoustic sound artist hailing from the Tyrrhenian coast between La Spezia and Carrara on the West Coast of Italy and is renowned for producing truly dark atmospheric and droning conceptual music, enlivened with subtle, spacious field recordings and analogue synthesis.Running the highly regarded Zooloft recordings alongside Giorgio Gigli for the last five years. Francesco has managed to create a highly respected sound dipping heavily into drone and industrial techniques, whilst retaining the truly hypnotic sound of early Italian electronic music. Making guest appearances away from his Zooloft imprint label under his Obtane monicker on labels such as Synewave, Sonic Groove and Strobescopic Artefacts. Surface welcome Francescos first release under his birth name, for part two of the Surface Limited series focusing on the diversity that artists have to offer away from the constraints of their expected roles amongst the scene.

After the success of the first two EPs from Wireman and AnD, we present an EP from Tom Dicicco. Dj Support from Conforce, Shifted, Cio D or, Giorgio Gigli, Forward Strategy Group, Max M Rec, Answer Code Request, Par Grindvik, Kowton and more… Inner Surface Music present their third release. After the success of the first two EPs from Wireman and AnD, we are very proud to present an EP from Tom Dicicco.2011 was a big year for Tom Dicicco with a string of high profile releases on Traut, Stockholm Ltd, Project Squared and Finale Sessions. Tom made his debut in Berghain this February 2012, playing along side Fanon flowers Live, Norman Nodge, Marcel Fengler and Grovskopa. Showcasing his skills as a producer from a young age, Tom has really managed to develop a sound of depth and maturity.Deep textural soundscapes and dub aesthetics run throughout this release, with Exit showing a darker side to his sound - dub techno built for the dancefloor. Vent has real swing, using loose techno rhythms to build momentum and ferocity around the dub chords and textures filling the resonant space. High Ground is a dub house track using playful vocals, cutting textures and a low slung bassline to build a pulsating irresistible groove.

LAKKER / ARC EP

  2. Ed
  3. Arc
  4. Evening Lemon

Irish live act / release duo Lakker join the Blueprint label with their first release. Slick Shake inspired techno and electronic tracks. Irish lads Ian Mc Donnell and Dara Smith have been recording for some time as Lakker with a number of releases for the likes Lazybird, Alphabet set, Acroplane and most notably Killekill. Here we proudly present their first Blueprint record in the form of the Arc E.P.A superb mix of bass driven techno and electronica across the four tracks here but the office fave has to be A2s super-shuffling piano track -Ed- which reminds very much of mid-period Anthony Shake Shakir material from days long gone.
